OUR EDUCATION MODEL

In the 20th century there were lots of movements in the educational world. The concepts of “progressive education” in the 1920s, “free education” in the 1970s and “democratic education” since the 1990s, are the results of these movements.
When we look at democratic education, we can see that it is not a temporary movement. We, as Yeşilköy 2001 College, accept this movement as a new phase of democratic culture in our educational system and identify it with ourselves.
We aim our students to acquire educational values, universal ethics, aesthetics and wisdoms as well as thinking critically in their lives with structural learning and the application of Socrates’ logic.
With the respect of the uniqueness of every child, the following aspects of our “individual awareness and development programme” are considered as:
ü Every child can learn when given the right time and conditions,
ü Every child can have different learning abilities,
ü Learning is about how the child feels and comprehends,
ü Children can learn something when it is meaningful to them.
